Inside The Puddles

I took these pictures of puddles at school. In photoshop I burnt the images, adjusted the lighting and I sharpened them. I really like both of these pictures. The clouds make the puddles look so cool.

  1. Both photos are sublime. Each one has such a strong aesthetic quality it's hard to pick a favourite.

I love the first photo for its dark industrial feel. The wet bitumen beaded with rain tells us that it has been a rainy day which is complemented beautifully by the puddle reflecting a silver lined cloud and a fleck of blue, telling us the rain has passed and the sky is opening.

The second photo I love for its use of subtle textural elements. The smears of blue sky and white cloud reflected in the murky brown waters , the scattered bursts of green weeds, the hidden repetition of the cyclone fence. This is a photo that rewards the viewer who is willing to spend time looking deeper into the image to reveal the subtle layers.

    Pricey :)
